“You keep referring to some sky God as Creator, and you blame all the demons of hell on the Earth. Your life view is skewed and perverted – making something unknown your deity of choice while you have the most incredible expression of love and nurturance right in front of you, housing and feeding you on a daily basis. You refer to Earth as “her” and the sky god as “him”, vilifying woman and exalting man. And then you feel superior to the Earth and superior to women and all other life forms, believing that the moon and stars rise and set just for you – some special “being” for whom all of this has been created. And to top it off, you destroy the very things that are all around you and feel justified in doing so because you’ve made this your private sandbox that you are defiling for the sake of your might and right. All of this in the name of isms and gods who are too petty to ever have crafted the incredible intricacy of this life force that holds no barriers to anyone or anything. There are no better or worse. This is one life system, people. Get a clue!”
With those words, I was drawn in to the world of Michael, a passionate ecologist and champion of those who had no voice in the over indulgent world we’ve come to know in the west as normal every day life. He had a no-nonsense message and challenged us to think beyond the limitation we’d grown in – not blaming, but pointing out what became obvious as we stripped away the story that justified the supremacy of tribal overlords throughout history.
