Two months ago an old man was walking in an alley in the early evening. Two young men walked up to him quickly, before he could react, and got on each side of him. They smelled of alcohol. “How about five dollars?” one of them asked. Just for a moment, the old man was afraid; but then he remembered the introduction to a book called, “A Course In Miracles” – a part of which reads as follows:
“Nothing real can be threatened.
Nothing unreal exists.
Herein lies the peace of God.”
He stood straight up, looked at the biggest one, and said, “No, but I will give each one of you one dollar.” There was a moment of hesitation from the big man – but then, perhaps, it was something about the old man – He said, “OK.” The two young men took the money and left.
There is no order of difficulty in miracles.
One is not harder or bigger than another.
They are all the same.
A man and his wife were in a restaurant. At a nearby table there was a boy of about six years old, making a lot of noise – it sounded like the boy was crying and complaining. The husband looked over, and could not see the boy; he could only hear him; and he became very irritated. He was about to complain to the waiter, but his wife touched him on the hand and said. “Wait, dear, be patient for just a minute.”
A few minutes later, both families got up to leave the restaurant. The husband looked at the young boy and saw the boy had Down Syndrom. The two families talked together. Their talk was friendly. When they parted, the husband said to his wife, “Thank you!”
The wife replied, “I remembered a passage in the Course In Miracles. It is this:
“All expressions of love are beyond limitation.
Everything that comes from love is a miracle.”
“Infinite patience produces immediate effects.”

A man was convicted of murder and sentenced to die. He was innocent. He filed notice of appeal, but it did no good. He became very bitter, and cursed the DA, the legal system, and his attorney. As his date of execution approached, the chaplain told him he might be interested in A Course In Miracles, and left him a copy. The man began reading the book. The first day he could not understand it. On the second day that he read the book, he read the following words:
What is not of God has no power.
In the Mind of God you are unique
And irreplaceable.
No one else can fill your part in it;
And if you step away from Him,
Your eternal place waits for your return.
The words hit him like a thunderbolt. In that moment in time, his entire view of life changed. He became calm; and his bitterness left him. When the warden came to take him to the execution room, he smiled at the warden; and when it came time for him to speak his last words, he thanked the guards for their kindness and said, “I bear no grudge against the DA or the jury, for what is happening is not of God, and that which of not God has no power over me. I forgive all of you, for you do not know the truth.”
Forgiveness opens all doors, including the door to miracles.
Love, which created you, is what you are.
Love cannot be contained.
God sees who you truly are.
God wants you to be happy.
Real pleasure comes only from God.
You are one self, united with God.
And one with every aspect of creation.
And one with peace.
God is in everything you see.
God created your mind;
Therefore your mind is a part of God.
God is the Light in which you see.
God is the Mind in which you think.
God is the love in which you forgive.
God is with you wherever you go.
Feel God’s presence
When you meet anyone.
As you look at the other person,
So you are looking at yourself.
As you meet someone, say silently,
“You and I are one, united with
Our Creator. I honor the light
That is in you. You are of God.
Together, and with others,
We are the Light of the World.”
