25 Years ago I did a series of drawings that depicted a group called The Plumplets. For many years they stayed locked away in my file cabinets in spite of prompting from friends to let the Plumplets fly free to bring a smile to the face of those who are burdened by the complexity of the world. I felt they were not politically correct since society was obsessed with body types. Plumplets are actually not meant to depict physical weight, they are light creatures who embody the circle of life rather than the straight line. They include all without exception, and bring a smile to remind us of the childlike sense of wonder that is possible. Finally, in the face of the latest assault to gentility and kindness around the world, I decided it was time to let The Plumplets come into their own.
The Plumplets represent unconditional love, acceptance of all regardless of what or who we are, and a link back to a childlike sense of joy, playfulness, and delight in being an expression of creation. I hope you will enjoy them and share them with those you know who could use a few moments of release from the burdens of the world.
