I asked about the symbolism of the wheel and was given this internal guidance regarding the circle of life:
Medicine in Native American terminology refers to potent transforming energy. The Wheel is the circle of life. The understanding that everything comes from the circle just as in numbers everything comes from and returns to the 0. The wheel is the base and nucleus upon which things are to be established....not the square. It is the base of the circle that allows the higher vibrations to penetrate...and herein lies the power of Indian magic versus the technological and material constructionism of the western civilizations who base things on the square. Look at true homes....our planet, the orbs in the sky, all are formed on spheres. There are no squares in the universe. These are man made elements.
In nature, there is always a rounding. Look at the base and trunks of trees ...they are all round....the base of flowers....they are all round. There is nothing square....this is man made and this is the limitation of man. He constructs on squares. As he moves to the circle he becomes empowered with the help of universal forces and his home becomes energized and filled. We do not seat people in squares....the phrase to square off...this is adversarial.
We circle the group for equality in participation and power in communication. We circle the group so that there are no hierarchal places. Each is distinct and yet interconnected. Each has intrinsic value. Each is a perfect part of the wheel and a wheel can turn and move whereas a square remains stationary and immovable accept by lifting it and placing it on something that has wheels. Vehicles do not move on square tires. Vehicles move on round circles. It is the magic of the Circle that is of utter importance for you to now understand and to integrate in your life and experience. It is the circle to which you must return and from which you will learn so that there can be greater understanding in your work and help of others.
