You may ask, what is the difference between prayer and insightful prayer, and the answer is simple. When we focus on a specific area of concern or appreciation and put our full heartfelt emotion into it, the prayer is powerful and direct. In other words, it is not a prayer of generalization, but specifically targets areas where you feel drawn.
One of the most important things to remember with directed prayer is that you are recognizing yourself as a member of an inside club, not an outsider begging to be let in. This flies in the face of many forms of prayer that assume we are weaklings, sinners, and apart from the very Creation of which we are all expressions. The powerless prayers are always stated from a point of separation, because we are praying TO something that we see as beyond us, and in so doing, we are ignoring our own response ability to make manifest heaven on earth.
What does that mean? It means that as long as we continue to feed the concept of separation and sin, we are always at the mercy of some outside force that we are pleading to for favors or acceptance or forgiveness. Yet, in all of existence, there is nothing separate from itself. Everything is an expression of that which created it, and when we truly understand what that means, we begin to claim the role of co-creators on earth, holding ourselves as ALL insiders…no more hierarchy, no more favorites of a God that has been crafted in a narrow and petty view of life as being exclusive to one group alone.
Life is a holy expression. In this realm, we are the ones who have been chosen to manifest in the world of illusion, temptation, and frustration. Yet, we have been given all the keys to the Kingdom when we truly turn away from messages that disenfranchise us and view the beauty and symmetry of nature, that we as humans have defiled and ignored – save to dominate since recorded history.
Earth is our ground of being…a playground for the soul where we are lifting a veil of forgetfulness and misinformation to claim our true heritage and our true nature as portions of the One. We are only separated in form from that which we truly are. This definition is expressed in order that we can play out roles and views that appear differently, but that all animate from the same life force. The illusion of separation creates barriers to unity unless we truly see how intricate and extraordinary the life plan and process is. Once we overcome the messages of the world and seek first the Kingdom of Heaven, which resides within us, we no longer see any group as more or less than. We hold no barriers to nature and all its myriad kingdoms as inferior to “us”. We recognize the interdependence of ALL life to bring stability to the whole, and in so doing there is no need for warring against anything. We move out of the straight line and into the Circle of Love, from where life resides, is born, and expands its being.
These may be revolutionary concepts for some, and welcome reminders to others. The key to powerful prayers is to understand that our attitude and understanding of ourselves is the key to the efficacy of what we set as intention and to whom we give praise and appreciation.
Life is a gift. We are the recipients of this blessing in form, and it is our privilege to unfold the essence of our true nature on this magnificent adventure of life.
