Words can heal. They can also destroy. We might reflect that “sticks and stones may break my bones, but words can never hurt me”…or “what you think of me is none of my business”….but in truth, words are energy vehicles that can strike at the heart of our well-being. It takes a very big person to deflect the effect of ill spoken words. And it takes a very conscious person to speak words that invoke healing in every moment of every day
Knowing that words are powerful vehicles implies that we need to use them with discretion and with insight. “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you”…implying that our actions to others always ought to be motivated by what we would hope was done to us. Let’s take that another step further: “Say unto others what you would have them speak unto you”
We have the gift of healing or destruction right between our ears. We begin with thoughts, the soil from which words are extracted. So our mental thoughts are important as the first step of consciously choosing what we will later speak. If we are random in our thinking, we are probably random in our speaking. When we consciously direct ourselves to observe our thoughts, we can see what we entertain within our mind. When we make a decision to exercise discretion in the thinking process, we have made an important step toward conscious communication.
What Is Conscious Communication?
There are several ingredients to conscious communication that are important.
We become the observer
First of all, we have to be willing to move out of our random thinking as reality. We have to move into the part of us behind the thoughts.
What is the quality of our thoughts?
Secondly, we pay attention to the quality of our inner dialogue and thoughts.
Where do our thoughts support inner harmony? Where do they promote conflict?
Planting positive thoughts
Next, we have to respond to thought impulse differently. We have the opportunity of shifting the field of resonance, by shifting what we allow into the conscious field. Thinking of our consciousness as a field where we plant our crops, we see the importance of tilling the soil and pulling up the weeds so that when we plant, we have a rich soil from which the seeds can draw nourishment. So with our thoughts. Negative or defensive thinking = weeds. As we change the resonant frequency, we are enriching the soil.
As we begin to feel the benefits of positive thinking and how it uplifts and heals us, we become aware of the fourth part in this process.
4. Consciously communicating
Now we recognize that everything we have done for ourselves we want to project externally. So the next phase is conscious communication…doing unto others…being aware of our words as emissaries of light or dark.
We now have the framework for beginning to be aware of the Power of Spoken word and of Conscious Communication. It all begins with thought, and it is an inside job. The observer is the monitor, and spirit is our ally. When we call upon our higher self, God, angels…whatever we consider as a positive force of good in our life…we can alter the current of negative forces that cause us to think, feel, or act unconsciously. For in truth, when we are disconnected from the source of light, the depression and negativity we feel keep us from conscious awareness. It is similar to experiencing depression during the dark months of the year where there is little light. In those situations, having full spectrum lighting and sun lamps in the house bring us back to ourselves. As we do this in the world with full spectrum light, we now do with our mind. We are bringing ourselves back to a positive stream of thinking that enables us to once again access that which is our true soul expression.
We benefit first from conscious communing and communicating. It is an important step in gaining our objectives and bringing to us what we truly want and desire. We have to take the steps and be vigilant in the process, but the results will bring us into the Abundant Field from which all good flows.
